Paul Hobbs
Straw yellow color with a slight green tint; ripe, heady aromas of peach, and baked custard. Generous flavors of tropical fruits mix with apple and vanilla notes. Opulent with a firm acidity, this lavish chardonnay is well-balanced with a crisp, lingering finish.
Wine Spectator
You won't find many Chardonnays in this class. Ultrarich and multidimensional, with a fabulous array of creamy flavors built around a core of fig, apricot, creme brulee and roasted marshmallows. Full-bodied yet elegant and concentrated, it weaves the tapestry of flavors to a long, rich, graceful finish. Drink now through 2009.
Score: 95.

Wine Advocate
More structure, acidity, and delineation are present in the 2002 Chardonnay Russian River. While it does not appear to possess as intense fruit as the 20001, it is still evolving. There is no doubting the impressive honeysuckle, peach-like notes.
Score: 89-91.
