A true crowd pleaser! This beautiful summer Spanish white is absolutely delicious! For a taste of something a little different and wonderfully refreshing, do not miss this winner! The review is not yet out, but Robert Parker rated the 2003 89 Points, and said, "The flamboyant, floral (lychees, peaches, apricots, etc.), richly fruity, dry, medium-bodied, fleshy 2003 Gessami is impressively well-made. It is reminiscent of an Albarino from Spain’s northwest sector of Galicia. The blend is 60% Muscat Alexandria, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Muscat Frontignen. This is an excellent value."
Wine Advocate
A terrific buy, the 3,000-case 2004 Gessami Blanco is an intriguing blend of 60% Muscat de Alexandria, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Muscat de Fontignac that comes across like Spain’s version of a white Hermitage, although it is lighter-bodied. Exotic waxy notes intermixed with notions of rose water, acacia flowers, and minerals jump from the glass of this medium-bodied white. It possesses a fruity, dry, intense, pure, spicy personality. The word “Gessami originates from the Hebrew word for jasmine, but I did not detect that characteristic in the wine. Drink it over the next year.
