50% Muscat of Alexandria of the large berry variety, 20% small-berry Muscat of Frontignan, 25% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% de Gewürztraminer. The wine is full of wonderful aromatics. Like a walk in the Spring, this wine reminds one of the coolness of fresh air, a bouquet of white flowers, fennel, apricot and forest...all wrapped in a sweet atmosphere of freshness, with a subtle mineral glow, and an enveloping evocation of infusions and a citric breeze. It has a long, unctuous aftertaste with the evocation of white flowers and citrus peels.
Wine Advocate
The light straw-colored 2008 Gessami Blanco is an intriguing blend of 30% Muscat Alexandria, 30% Muscat de Fontignan, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Gewurztraminer sourced from Gramona’s highest elevation vineyard. It offers up an exotic perfume of honey, spring flowers, citrus, and baking spices. On the palate it calls to mind a dry fruit cocktail perfect as an aperitif wine on a hot summer day.
