E. Guigal

Eye: Dark and deep colour. Nose: Red fruits, cherry and strawberry with delicate oak aromas. Palate: A structured tannic wine. Aromas of blackcurrant buds and vanilla. Overall: Remarkable freshness with notable and refined tannins to due long oak ageing.

Wine Spectator

Light-bodied, with fresh red and black cherry fruit, light tobacco and garrigue hints and an elegant finish. Drink now.

Score: 87. —James Molesworth, May 15, 2007.

Wine Enthusiast

Mega-négociant Guigal has turned out a fine Crozes-Hermitage in 2004, one that accurately reflects the strengths and weaknesses of the vintage. There’s admirable purity of cherry, peppery fruit but also a certain lack of concentration. The result is a pretty wine that should be consumed over the near term.

Score: 86. —Joe Czerwinski, December 31, 2008.
