Robert Craig

Aroma: Dark berries and black cherry predominate, underlain with pure Napa Valley cassis and lovely notes of lavender, violets, anise and sweet spices. Flavors: A balanced entry of dark fruit and fine-grained tannin carries into the mid-palate, enlivened by more black currant liquer, violets and sweet spice box. Finish: Concentrated fruit flavors are bolstered by juicy tannins to create a complex, long-lived finish. General: A rich, multi-layered Cabernet that balances power with finesse.

Wine Advocate

The most well-balanced of this trio is the 2005 Affinity. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by sweet cassis, toasty oak, graphite, and spice notes offered in a medium-bodied, elegant, Margaux-like stylish, graceful wine. Drink it over the next decade.

Score: 90. —Robert Parker, December 2008.

Wine Spectator

Rich, intense and well-proportioned, with spicy currant, cedary oak, dried berry and black cherry flavors that are elegant and stylish, focused and persistent. Best from 2009 through 2014.

Score: 89. —James Laube, July 31, 2008.
