Louis Jadot

Concentrated aromas of ripe black berry and dark cherry fruit are offset by suggestions of violet, minerals and tobacco in this ripe, velvety wine, and carry into a long, silky finish underscored by firm tannins

Wine Advocate

Ripe dark berries and decadently sweet lily-like floral perfume scent Jadot's 2008 Vosne-Romanee Les Suchots. There is a certain severity to the combination of textural firmness and brightness of fruit exhibited here, but as marine-, St.-Vivant-like mineral nuances join those of forest floor and persistent inner-mouth perfume, the rich potential of this Pinot becomes evident, and its sheer length should remain a formidable asset over 15 or so years in bottle.

Score: 91-92. —David Schildknecht, June 2010.

International Wine Cellar

Good deep red. Less minerally and more chocolatey than the Boudots on the sweet nose. Fat with dark fruits and spices in the mouth, displaying a fine-grained texture and a deep sweetness. A fairly big wine that finishes with building tannins.

Score: 89-92. —Stephen Tanzer, April 2010.

Wine Spectator

Cherry and black currant flavors are well-defined, while spice and woodsy underbrush accents add interest. This is taut and linear, with a saturated red berry finish. Best from 2013 through 2024. 50 cases imported.

Score: 89. —Bruce Sanderson, 2011.
