Château Suduiraut

Elegant, sweet and full-bodied with a remarkable life-expectancy. Beautiful gold colour with amber tints when aged. Harmony, power, complexity, and finesse it is often said that a great Suduiraut is the essence of Sauternes. It is a fresh, crisp and pure 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon blend coming from five different plots in the vineyard: three plots planted with younger vines of Sauvignon Blanc grapes, two plots of 35-year-old vines of Sémillon.

Wine Spectator

Shows dried pineapple, honey, pear, caramel and piecrust aromas. Full-bodied and very sweet, with spice, coconut, tropical fruit and apple tart flavors. Long and dense, yet lively. Best after 2013. 6,500 cases made.

Score: 93. —James Suckling, March 31, 2008.

Wine Enthusiast

90-92 Barrel sample. This is a hugely ripe wine dominated by concentrated, ripe fruits and flavors of pure sweet oranges. A powerful wine, surprising because of its weight in a year that seems more about freshness, but still good.

Score: 91. —Roger Voss, June 01, 2006.
