The tiny plot of Grand Cru Valmur sits snuggly between Vaudésir to the north and Les Clos to the south. Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils owns a total of 3 acres of this famed terroir. The plot is densely planted (7000 vines per hectare) with vines averaging 50 years old.
Wine Advocate
The 2009 Chablis Valmur emerges from the glass with tiny bursts of energy and vibrancy. This is a minimalist, understated wine graced with tremendous classiness from start to finish. It is also quite cool and reserved for the vintage. All in all, this is another winner from Moreau. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.

International Wine Cellar
Bright lemon-yellow color; less gold than the Blanchot and Vaudesir. Reticent nose hints at soft citrus fruits and ripe pear. Large-scaled, sweet and rich if a bit youthfully inexpressive today. Firm mineral-driven acidity carries and lifts the finish of this impressively structured 2009. Lots of potential here, but in need of at least a couple years of bottle aging.

Burghound
A less forthcoming but similar nose marries into richer yet more detailed middle weight flavors that are admirably fresh and pure before culminating in a palate staining, balanced and driving finish of striking length. This should make for a really lovely wine in a few years.

Wine Spectator
This cohesive white offers intensity to its apple, green plum and citrus flavors. The structure shows on the finish, as citrus and a hint of vanilla chime in on the aftertaste. Best from 2013 through 2020. 300 cases imported.

Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
