Annual Table to Table Events
How can you experience a culinary wine event that you will never forget and feed thousands of people in need in the same evening? Come to Table to Table's "Chefs Gala" at Alpine Country Club on Tuesday, May 8th and meet one of the country’s most beloved chefs, Lidia Bastianich (See Menu). This special “Salute to Lidia” will feature a lineup of extraordinary chefs including Mark Ladner from Del Posto, Ben Pollinger from Oceana, David Burke, David Burke Townhouse and Peter Kelly from Xaviars at Piermont.
Each star chef will prepare a signature dish which will be paired with a specially selected wine for a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. Best of all, every couple who attends this amazing Chefs Gala will be providing over 8,000 meals to our hungry neighbors.
Table to Table, NJ’s first and only food rescue program, started in 1999 with one truck. On their first run they picked up food from 3 restaurants and one supermarket and brought it to a drug rehab center and homeless shelter in Paterson. Today, with 5 trucks, they deliver to over 75 recipient agencies throughout Bergen, Hudson, Passaic and Essex counties. Last year they delivered over 8 million meals at a cost of about 10/cents per meal. This year their goal is to deliver over 9 million meals, with 2 million specifically targeted to Newark. These food and wine events will make reaching that goal possible by keeping their trucks on the road bringing fresh, nourishing food to those who need it most.
If you are unable to attend the Chefs Gala, please consider joining Guest of Honor Anita Lo at the Great Grill & Pig Out at Florentine Gardens on Wednesday, May 30th. Each guest will have an assigned seat and be able to taste specialties from over 25 top NJ restaurants along with over 100 wines. Every couple attending this event will be providing over 5,000 meals to those in need!
