Highly Rated 2007 Brunello From Ciacci Piccolomini
Comments From James Suckling, after tasting 160
Brunello di Montalcinos from the 2007 vintage:
"I was incredibly impressed with the richness of the wines. They are wonderfully fruity with a purity of ripe Sangiovese that is seldom seen from the vineyards surrounding the hilltop town of Montalcino. The bright fruit in the wines overshadowed their firm tannins and fresh acidities, yet they remain agile with tension.”
And....here's what Chuck Russo, owner Wine & Spirit World,
has to say about Ciacci Piccolomini:
"I had the opportunity to visit Ciacci in Montalcino and was thrilled by the consistancy of high quality throughout their product line. Their 2007 Brunellos both showed seductive aromas, bright fruit and the 'warmth' that the Montalcino terroir imparts into the Sangiovese Grosso. Silky tannins and good acidity encourage aging yet the fruit forward style of the 2007 vintage allows for early enjoyment with an hour of decanting. Don't miss these exceptional wines at special pre-arrival prices!"
The Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona estate dates back to the 17th century and is one of Italy’s most highly regarded wineries. Their wines all exhibit Tuscan typicity crafted in a modern style.
