The most exotic, the most intriguing of all Krug champagnes, Krug Rosé is not a classic, it is an original. There is simply no other champagne like it, a true show-stopper. Its pale, tawny pink color and miniscule bubbles lead to a bouquet of wild strawberries and concentrated flavors. Bone dry with a flavor that goes on forever, it has the dimension and weight to marry with almost any food. A "Multi-Vintage" produced in strictly limited quantities, Krug Rosé is mellow and beautifully silky. Pinot Noirs from the best vines in Ay in the Marne Valley are treated to a short and limited fermentation on the skins. This wine is blended with other Pinot Noirs, Meuniers and Chardonnays produced by the classic Krug method of using small oak casks. Together in the cuvée they develop into the enchanting Krug Rosé. The Krug family waited for 140 years before releasing their first rosé in 1983. One sip of Krug Rosé and it is evident it was worth the wait.
Super fresh and bright with musky red fruit aromas as well as gently marzipan scented biscuits on the nose; spices all here too. Great complexity and depth, really elegant, assertive and deep. Long and even, superb depth through the finish. Great wine. Drink young and precocious.

Fine and harmonious, this expressive rosé offers grilled nut and coffee accents, layered with exotic spice, dried peach, raspberry, biscuit, pastry cream and bergamot notes. Long and focused, with the flavor range carried on the silky, detailed mousse and driven by vibrant acidity. Disgorged summer 2013. Drink now through 2025.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
