Wine Enthusiast
Deliciously perfumed fruit, with new-wood richness topped by solid tannins here. This is a dense, chewy wine but also one that offers plenty of juicy, black fruit flavors. Big and bold, it will also age well.

Ripe, round and plush, this offers both red and black cherry flavors, with hints of plum and licorice. Firm, grainy tannins provide support. Lively, with a cocoa powder texture on the fresh finish. Best from 2008 through 2025. 400 cases made.
Score: 93.

International Wine Cellar
Highly complex aromas of raspberry, rose petal, mocha, iron and pepper; shows a musky syrah-like character that's no doubt due to the inclusion of the stems. Aromatic and sweet in the mouth, with lovely clarity of flavor. Intriguing soil tones of flowers, spices and earth; distinctly wild. Finishes juicy and youthfully tight. Potel avers that of the grand crus he works with, Charmes-Chambertin, Romanee-Saint-Vivant and Bonnes-Mares are the most consistent to their respective terroirs year after year.
Score: 90-92.
