Languedoc-Roussillon is the single biggest wine-producing region in the world (in surface area), responsible for more than one-third of France’s total wine production. Located on the Mediterranean Sea, the climate of this region is very conducive to growing a large amount of a wide variety of grapes. The resulting wines are very diverse. Although primarily known for its inexpensive table wine, the Languedoc-Roussillon region is also home to many types of red wine, floral white wine, and dessert wine.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
