The region of Provence is located in southeast France, near the Mediterranean coast. The first region in France to start wine-making, Provence has been known throughout history for its rosé wine. Although a variety of grapes are now grown here, the region still continues to specialize in rosé wines; 75% of all the wines produced in this area are rosé, characterized by their very pale color, light-bodied taste, and unique, rustic flavors. This also accounts for over 45% of France’s total rosé wine production.

Parker, Jr. Initially titled The Baltimore-Washington Wine Advocate the first issue was published in 1978. I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
