Sylvain Bzikot is quickly becoming a superstar in Puligny. He is arguably producing the best wines in the Village. This elegant wine comes from 4 plots in Puligny Montrachet, two of which border Perrieres 1er cru and Referts 1er cru. The wine is vinified in 15% new French oak for 14 months as well as 3 months in stainless steel. This Village wine exhibits great structure, beautiful balance, and an incredible finish. It brings to the surface an incredible citrus nose with nice richness and class.

Domaine Bzikot Cremant de Bourgogne NVA wine that would confuse many for a top notch Champagne. This Blanc de Blanc comes from 100% Chardonnay from Puligny Montrachet grapes that are vinified the same as his Village Puligny Montrachet wines. This is a wonderful alternative to Champagne that rivals some of the best in terms of quality and offers incredible value. It’s wine of great character, elegance and balance that embarrasses many new world sparklers in this price range. An amazing value!
Domaine Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc 2016This great wine comes from Houlllieres, a Village plot in Puligny Montrachet. It would say Puligny Montrachet on the label, if not for the 5% of the vineyard which has not been classified as Village. Moreover, this wonderful vineyard lies right next to the Domaine Leflaive plot. The wine is vinified with the same method and meticulous effort as his village and 1er cru wines. He gently presses the wine and vinifies 1/3 of it in barrels (5% new) with the remainder only treated to stainless steel. This lends texture but not oakiness. Clean and fresh on the palate, the Bourgogne shows Puligny-like characters of apples, pears and stony mineral notes in the long finish. Superb now, but I suspect this little wine will live on and strut its stuff with flash for quite some time.
Domaine Bzikot Santenay Le Chainey 2017An incredible lieu dit vineyard that provides great wines under the radar. The Bzikot plot is literally 5 yards from 1er cru Grand Clos Rousseau. This wine can be confused for many Chassagne Montrachets. The wine is rich and elegant with hints of mineral tones and citrus characteristics. This beautiful wine is aged in 10% new French oak for 12 months and then 3 months in stainless steel. A very nice bargain.
Domaine Sylvain Bzikot Meursault 2016A very elegant wine that expresses the true flavors of Meursault. The wine from 50yr old vines is fermented in 15% new French oak for 14 months and then 3 in stainless steel. Although a négociant wine, Sylvain works the vineyards and tends to the wine. He has an option to buy this plot which will soon be considered Domaine. Light yellow in color this Meursault has a mineral tinged citrus perfume with hints of roasted hazelnuts. It is flavorful, rounded and supple with citrus, mineral nuances and hints of pineapple and roasted hazelnuts. This is a really lovely Meursault.
Domaine Bzikot Puligny Montrachet la Rousselle 2017One of the most amazing wines for the price that drinks like many 1er crus, if not better. The Bzikot plot just borders both Perrrieres and Referts 1er crus and is a wine of great balance and elegance. It has beautiful flavors of almond paste, hazelnut, and green apple. With a mineral flinty touch. A truly wonderful wine not to be missed. Only 35 cases imported to the USA.
Domaine Bzikot Puligny Montrachet les Folatieres 2017The largest 1er cru in Puligny-Montrachet from one of the best sites just next to Clos de la Garanne. This elegant wine from 50yr old vines and aged in 15% new French oak and 10% stainless steel tanks, has flavors of apple and stone fruits, a touch of lime skin, fresh butter and hazelnut flavors and aromas all swirl in a smooth-textured wine with just the right amount of acidity at the end.
Domaine Bzikot Puligny Montrachet les Perrieres 2017One of the best vineyards in Puligny with great structure and complexity. The vines are approaching 60yrs of age and the wine is aged in 15% new French oak and 10% stainless steel tanks. A wonderfully complex nose of chalk, limestone, lime, apple, and a bunch of other stuff I can’t name. In the mouth, the wine is super pure and deep with ripe stone fruit, melon, minerals, and emerging nut and fresh butter notes. Long and very persistent on the finish. A great wine.
