Couly-Dutheil Les Chanteaux Blanc 2016A rare and unique Chenin Blanc with aromatic, soft and floral fruits. Dry and elegant, complex and rich. Chanteaux is a dry, round, vibrant wine with flowery aromas and a little melon, white pear, and pineapple on the palate. This wine is similar to its Loire cousin Vouvray but it has more weight and depth; it is a wonderful and unique expression of pure Chenin Blanc, and it is a wonderful and delicious break from Chardonnay.
Chalk Hill Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2016Expressive fruit aromas of yellow apple and lemon curd, with classic oak expression notes of toasted hazelnut, vanilla custard and crème brulee. The flavor on the palate is more elegant and cool climate style.
Trig Point Diamond Dust Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Made by Nick Goldschmidt. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, spice, and licorice. Black currant and cherry flavors are accented with sage and dark chocolate. Full-bodied on the palate, this vintage shows subtle espresso bean and mocha notes in a soft, supple finish.
Garnet Monterey County Pinot Noir 2014This is a Pinot with elegance and extract, but also with a lush body and silky texture. Aromas include ripe blackberries, cherry preserves, vanilla hazelnuts and toasted French oak. I love the velvety richness of the attack. The flavors of dark red fruits and exotic spices just make this a juicy, delicious mouthful of wine.
Goldeneye Pinot Noir 2014Charming, but with a hint of wildness, plush yet rustic, this captivating Pinot Noir effortlessly balances layers of cherry, ripe cranberry and wild blackberry with notes of leather, earth and spice. Touched with a kiss of the finest French oak, it carries through to a velvety finish that is both long and lush.
La Spinetta Barbera d'Asti Ca' di Pian 2011Color: Ruby red with purple reflections. Bouquet: Aromas of blueberry, mineral and flower. Taste: Fruity full body with fir acidity and a crisp, flavorful berry finish.
Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico 2014Preserved cherries with a light balsamic note, bright and impressive palate and a long standing, lightly salty finish.
Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo 2012This riserva has a luminous ruby red color. Appealing aromas of dark cherries, plums, sweet spice, violets, vanilla and hints of dark chocolate and menthol emerge on the nose. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied but smooth with an almost creamy mouthfeel. Tannins are well integrated with the alcohol, and lead to a subtly sweet, silky finish. Food Pairing: Pair this wine with Korean short ribs, ragù sauces, gnocchi with roasted rabbit, and beef negimaki.
Catena Zapata Catena Malbec 2014The Catena family has conducted extensive research into the soils and microclimates of Mendoza's high altitude wine country in the foothills of the Andes mountains. At different altitudes, the family's Malbec vineyards express a unique profile of aromas and flavors: the ripe plum fruit flavors and silky texture of the Angelica vineyard (3018 ft elevation); the dark fruit character and pepper notes of the La Pirámide vineyard (3117 ft elevation); the black cherry aromas and excellent structure of the Altamira in La Consulta vineyard (3593 ft elevation); the explosive floral aromatics full, concentrated mouthfeel of the Adrianna vineyard (4757 ft). The blend of these components creates a wine of unique character that has balance, concentration and a strong varietal identity.
Domaine Cheysson Chiroubles Clos Les Farges 2015The wines from Chiroubles are generally delicious, supple and elegant, with a striking red color while the nose combines scents of peonies, lily of the valley and violets. Brimming with fruit and flowers, Chiroubles is one of the most individual wines of Beaujolais. Tthis wine bursts with vibrantly fresh, juicy fruit and a finish with finesse. You won't be able to stop at just one sip.
Complicated Red Wine 2013Taste: Ripe raspberry and red cherry burst from this fruit-forward central coast blend. Notes of anise, cocoa and well-integrated French oak make for a pleasant and balanced mid-palate. The finish lingers with flavors of cassis and dried plums. Look: Color is medium burgundy with a deep violet hue. Nose: Seductive aromas of strawberries, bright red cherries, ripe plum, black tea, bitter chocolate, espresso, and subtle tea leaf aromas.
Francois Baur Herrenweg Pinot Gris 2014
Vins Auvigue Mâcon Solutré 2013This is the pure expression of Chardonnay because of the pale gold with green tints. They can be aged one or two years according to the character of the vintage.
Cave de Lugny Macon Lugny Les Charmes 2015The nose explodes with aromas of citrus, peach and apricot followed by a wonderful balance between acidity and sweetness with a marked freshness. The structure and slightly spicy flavor of Les Charmes makes it unique among Mâconnais wines. The wine is still very aromatic and very fresh after ageing.
Domaine Bzikot Puligny Montrachet 2015A blend of 4 of Bzikot’s vineyards on the Puligny bench. The wine has a lovely perfume of green apples, fresh butter, hazelnuts and limestone, a full-bodied wine, on the palate, very rich with good acidity, loaded with mineral and citrus fruit, lasting finish, a classic village AOC.
Maillard Pere & Fils Chorey Les Beaune 2013A wine coming from 30-40 yr old vines that give this wine a great structure not typical of Chorey les Beaune. This wine reminds me more of Beaune with deep cherry flavors and nice minerality with earthy overtones. A beautiful elegant wine!
Dr. Lippold Empress Josephine's Riesling 2014
Weingut St. Urbans-Hof Riesling QbA 2015Fruity wines are given a black label. Riesling vines in the steep vineyards of St. Urbans-Hof are trained using the traditional single-stake method. The vines are planted close together (7,000-10,000 vines per ha), forcing them to compete constantly with one another for resources and dig deep into the earth to get the nutrients they need.
