Beaux Freres The Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015Medium to dark ruby, Body - medium to full. A darker, more brooding and fuller bodied wine, our original estate vineyard Pinot is approachable but ideally will benefit from several years of patience.
Siduri Clos Pepe Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013The Siduri Clos Pepe Vineyard Pinot Noir consists of two sections of clone 115 - the hillside section on the far east of the vineyard (20% whole cluster), and the pond section at the lowest point of the vineyard (completely destemmed). The Sta. Rita Hills make up the only valley that runs truly west-east in the entire West Coast of North America. This funnels the wind into the area, leading to smaller clusters & more concentrated berries.
Orin Swift Mercury Head Cabernet Sauvignon 2014An alluring hue of dark garnet sits in the glass, encircled by a glowing ruby rim. Immediate aromas of ripe black cherry, blueberry and classic cassis are supported by undertones of lavender, jasmine, sage, tobacco, cigar box and the slightest touch of anise. Rich and vibrant upon entry, flavors of dark plums, figs and black fruit transform into sweet vanilla and dark chocolate framed by velvety and plush tannins. The wine finishes with great length and a touch of acidity-an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from select vineyards in the Napa Valley.
Dominus Napa Valley Red 2014 375mlDominus Estate wines are made with an objective of purity, balance and complexity. Minimal intervention and restraint throughout the process of grape berry selection, fermentation and aging preserve the character of the fruit. The resulting wines convey the very personality of the vineyard. Dominus winemaking includes separate lot-by-lot fermentation. Cluster sorting by hand is complemented by an optical berry sorting system. Gentle pumping-over extracts aromas, color and tannins. Vertical wine press at low pressure delicately releases components from the skin. Racking barrel to barrel in 100% french oak removes sediment and assures clarification of the wine during aging. We recommend decanting the wine prior to serving to allow it to develop its full potential. This is especially important when serving young Dominus wines.
Continuum Proprietary Red 2014A dense purple robe and vibrant violet rim lead to aromas of cassis, cardamom, espresso and graphite. 2014 shows purity of site and fruit; a core of black plum and cherry, intertwined with layers of exotic spice, heightened by ripe, polished tannins, natural vibrancy and a long silky finish. This vintage reveals the harmonious balance of fruit, site and season from our Sage Mountain Vineyard at Continuum Estate. For the fullest sensory experience we encourage decanting Continuum, to allow the wine to breathe before serving. Decanting awakens the wine's more purely fragrant expression and enhances the suppleness of the palate.
K Vintners Ovide Jack's Vineyard 2014For my father, Robert Ovide. This wine grown in the cobble stone of Jack's Vineyard is text book Ovide. Black olive, earth abound, along with tobacco, dried herbs, dried orange peel as it comes into focus. A long and profound palate from the beginning to end. It tells the story of Ovide.
K Vintners The Hidden Syrah 2014
Dal Forno Romano Valpolicella Superiore 2010Valpolicella offers hints of blueberry, blackberry, cherry and chocolate which emerge gradually as the wine breathes. The potent tannins, which give structure to this product, are in perfect symbiosis with the velvety aromas of sweet spices and jam which envelop the palate and excite the senses.
Dal Forno Romano Amarone della Valpolicella 2009Undoubtedly the complexity of this wine is superior in respect to that of Valpolicella and has its place in the category of wines that are usually defined as “meditation wines”. Subtle aromatic hints, that range from black cherry, blueberry to chocolate, anticipate the opulent expression of mature fruit that flows into the mouth with inadvertent persistence. Nuances of truffle, tobacco and new leather wrap around the finish. It is a wine with undiscovered potential, but whose depth leaves one hoping that it has a very long development ahead of it.
Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2012Brunellos are elegant wines that manage to balance wonderful raciness along with great concentration and structure. Each one exhibits Tuscan typicity, crafted in a modern style.
Gaja Sori Tildin 2013Color: Deep purple. Aroma: Complex aromas of toast, minerals, sour cherries, cedar and spices. Taste: The palate is dense and rich of mulberry and blueberry notes. The finish is long and marked by a peculiar meaty note.
Gaja Costa Russi 2013Color: Dark ruby/purple. Aroma: A captivating and refined nose with well-integrated aromas of blackberries, violets and roasted coffee beans. Taste: Elegance and crystal purity characterize this extremely complex and densely woven wine with an aging potential of decades.
Bussola Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2012The wine, of garnet-russet hue, is slightly sweet, warm, robust, full, harmonious, velvety with a most satisfying touch of bitterness. It is the ideal wine with game and has no rivals as an accompaniment to hard cheeses. But its most characteristic role is as an after-dinner wine, for sipping in moments of intimacy, or for fuelling lively post-prandial conversation. It should be opened at least two hours before consumption and consumed at ambient temperature. It is the classic wine of friendship.
Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2012Ruby red in colour, with a very intense, persistent nose and with red fruit notes. Warm, balanced flavour with velvet-smooth tannins. Long-lasting aroma. Food Pairings: Red meats, game, mature cheeses.
Marojallia Margaux 2003From its first tastings, the wine proved extraordinarily successful thanks to its elegance and delicious softness. Very rich, fruity, with vanilla, blackcurrant and liquorice flavours. An intense purple robe combined with roundness. Very long on the palate. The delicate quality of the appellation is balanced by an impressive level of concentration and power.
Domaine de Beaurenard Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Boisrenard 2012
Domaine de Beaurenard Boisrenard Chateauneuf du Pape 2015
Domaine du Pegau Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Réservée 2015Food pairings: Red grilled meat, lamb shoulder with thyme and dishes of tapas and curry.
Yalumba The Signature 2012Almost blood red, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz in motion, changing and shifting from red scents of currants and cranberries to the black fruits of plum compote and black cherries, before a touch of cedar, leafy herbs and powdery black spices freshen the finish. The wine has a coolness that belies its power. The expression is as restrained as it is muscular. Richly layered, the fruit completes the structure. Underneath there's an umami earthiness, like scents of camping in the woods. Impeccably balanced. Savour with a rosemary pepper beef rib roast with porcini jus.
