Chateau Bourbon La Chapelle Medoc 2015
Château Bourbon La Chapelle is a special selection from the vineyard of Château Castera, which consists of 63 hectares of vines in the Medoc. The vineyard of Château Castera has been known since the 14th century and is one of the oldest vineyards in the Medoc. Other famous historical names bear witness for Castera: Thomas de Montaigne, the brother of the philosopher, Messire La Boetie, was one of the two most prestigious owners of the property. From that period, there remains a keep that dominates the village of Saint Germain d'Esteuil. In the 17th century, a splendid chapel was built on the property and gave its name to this wine in the 1990's.
Dark ruby color with lovely aromas of black currants and red fruits with notes of leather, tobacco and cedar. It is medium-bodied on the palate with excellent balance and rounded tannins on the finish.

Wine EnthusiastThe wine comes from a selection of parcels on the Castera estate. With a majority (60%) of Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is structured and firm and still developing. It has red-berry and black-currant fruit along with plenty of tannic structure. Drink the wine from 2020.
