Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Clos des Myglands 2017
Another of Domaine Faiveley's famed monopoles, 1er Cru Clos de Myglands (mee-glaund) is a 14 acre parcel located north of the village of Mercurey and adjacent to Faiveley's lieu-dit La Framboisiere. Vines here date back to 1961 and are planted in a mixture of clay and limestone soils.
Wine SpectatorA tangy, succulent style, this red exhibits cherry, raspberry, currant, spice and stony mineral aromas and flavors. Elegant and linear, extending on the long, fruit-stained aftertaste. Drink now through 2032.
Wine AdvocateFrom a six-hectare parcel, the 2017 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Myglands is quite reminiscent of the 2009 rendition, opening in the glass with notes of cherries, black raspberries, dark chocolate and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and velvety, with a layered and nicely concentrated core, ripe acids and an expansive finish.
