Wine EnthusiastWhile wood aging has given this wine a dry, firm core, it has also allowed the ripe black plum fruit flavors to develop well. The result is a rich wine, structured while also generously fruity. It is still coming together; wait until at least 2017 before drinking.

Wine AdvocateA very solid effort from Listrac, the 2012 Cap Léon Veyrin is made up of 55% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot, aged 12 months in oak. It is a surprisingly bigger-scaled, riper, more concentrated wine with loads of cassis, blackberry, spice box and earth. It is medium to full-bodied, rich, and definitely a major success, possibly the best wine I tasted from Listrac in 2012. Drink it over the next decade or more. A sleeper of the vintage.
