Las Rocas de San Alejandro Vinas Viejas Garnacha 2012
|Brand||Las Rocas de San Alejandro|
Wine AdvocateThe 2012 Las Rocas Garnacha Viñas Viejas is an old-vine Garnacha selection from head-pruned 35- to 50-year-old vineyards on a mixture of soils, clay, stone and schist, which aged for ten months in French (70%) and American oak barrels before bottling. The oak is still noticeable in the nose but seems to be in the process of being integrated with the cherry and orange peel aromas. The palate shows a medium body with grainy, slightly dusty tannins, some hints of sweetness and good acidity before ending slightly warm. 100,000 bottles produced.
