Jean Luc Colombo Cornas Terres Brûlées 2014
A deep ruby-black with purple hints. Blackcurrant, dark cherries and blackberries, with spices, licorice and cocoa on the nose. The palate has a very rich mouthfeel with flavors of black fruit, jam, vanilla, spice and mineral notes.
|Brand||Jean Luc Colombo|
Wine SpectatorWell-hewn, with a pleasantly firm, slightly toasted frame around a core of dark plum and currant puree flavors. Tobacco and chestnut leaf notes line the finish, where ample fruit pumps through. Best from 2018 through 2029.
Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Cornas Terres Brûlées is the entry-level wine and comes from vines located around Jean-Luc's house at the upper part of Cornas. It's a soft, supple, forward effort that offers classy notes of black raspberries, peppery spice, toasted bread and flowers in a moderately concentrated, yet impeccably balanced profile. Drink it over the coming 5-7 years.
Wine EnthusiastSubtle vanilla and baking spices accent plum and blueberry notes in Colombo's entry-level Cornas. It's medium in body, with a brightness and freshness to it that make it approachable young. Drink now-2025.
