Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2014
The result of the Allegrini family’s expertise, a true classic of the appellation, this red wine embraces tradition, territory and the know-how of generations working the land. Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta are left to air dry at least until December and are checked daily to ensure perfectly healthy grapes. It is this technique of air drying the grapes that produces this unique wine.

Wine SpectatorA seamless, medium- to full-bodied red. Like fine silk, this weaves through the range of crushed black cherry, licorice and citrus with fine, supple tannins and an underpinning of smoke-tinged mineral. Offers a long, lingering finish. Not a powerhouse, but this racehorse should go the distance. Drink now through 2030.
James SucklingA warmly spiced nose of plum liqueur, roasting herbs, chestnuts, fruit cake, dried figs, cedar, tobacco, baking spices, treacle and toasted oak. Full-bodied with some sweetness, round tannins, a pretty serving of acidity and a long finish. Drink in 2021.
