Bird in Hand Chardonnay 2015
|Region||Australia, South Australia, Adelaide Hills|
|Brand||Bird in Hand|
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Chardonnay opens with ripe peach, spiced apples and honeysuckle notes with wafts of baking bread and allspice. Medium-bodied with a lovely creaminess to the texture, it has a racy line cutting through the spiced stone fruit flavors, and it finishes with plenty of zip.
VinousLight bright yellow. Vibrant, sharply delineated citrus and pit fruit aromas take on a suave floral accent as the wine opens up. Shows very good clarity and lift on the palate, offering juicy Meyer lemon and nectarine flavors and a hint of fennel. Vanilla and smoke nuances appear on a long, gently sweet finish that shows a refreshing touch of bitter quinine.
Wine EnthusiastGive this wine a few minutes to open up, and once it does it's a lovely example of cool climate Chardonnay. Subtle notes of ripe lemon, stone fruit, butter, and smoke lead into a slippery textured, medium-weighted palate. More lemon and stone fruit mark the flavors, and toast and smoke show on the finish.
