Chateau Clos Dubreuil Anna 2014
- ws86
Freshness and precision. The three Merlot plots and the single Cabernet Franc plot dedicated to the production of Anna are situated on the north face of Saint Emilion's clay-limestone plateau. They are tended to with incredible diligence and care (de-budding, leaf pulling, green harvesting etc.) in order to obtain grapes of the very best quality. Harvesting takes place a week later than for the Clos Dubreuil plots and is done by hand, using small baskets.
This 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc wine is made to honor the winemaker, Benoit Trocard’s grandmother. The vineyard site is 2.5 acres. It is a very complex wine with integrated oak from 20 months of aging in French oak barrels. It is consistent on the palette with molten tannins, dominant dark fruits and spices, very good length and spice on the finish.
