This red IGT Umbria was named for a traditional dance performed during the harvest. It is a youthful wine and is produced in Umbria, in the Trasimeno lake area, from Sangiovese, Merlot and Ciliegiolo grapes. Wine with a good balance in the body and great drinkability. The aromas are spicy with hints of red jam, licorice and chocolate. Good concentration and harmonious tannins to the palate. Perfect with pasta, risotto, white or red roasted meats, freshwater fish, cheese.
James SucklingVery pretty spice and berry character with hints of chocolate. Medium body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. A dynamic young wine. A blend of sangiovese, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Drink now or hold.
VinousBright ruby-red. Aromas and flavors of red cherry, strawberry, violet, mint and licorice. In a bright, fruity style, penetrating if not especially fleshy, this young red has enough stuffing to support its noteworthy tannins. The medium-long finish is vibrant and classically dry, with bright acidity extending the red fruit flavors at the back. A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s aged four months in large 50 hL Slavonian oak barrels. The wine’s name is a reference to a local dance performed at harvest time.
