Domaine Zind Humbrecht Pinot Blanc 2015
Bright pale yellow colour. The nose is quite intense but takes some time to open up (basically a day). It then reveals beautiful floral/fruity aromatics (honeysuckle, peach, melon…) but also a clear sense of limestone influence. There is no doubt that the initial tightness originates from the influence of the Rotenberg vineyard. The palate shows intensity but also stays elegant and tight. Very dry finish with this classic 2015, ripe acidity touch, salivating, juicy and not aggressive. Impressive Pinot-Blanc, very pure in its definition.

Wine EnthusiastGentle but lovely hints of yellow mirabelle plum are just perceptible on the nose. The palate is light and lithe and meets the scented fruit of the nose with an earthy roundness.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Pinot Blanc is a blend of Herrenweg Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois with Auxerrois from the Rotenberg (50/50 vineyard share, one-third Pinot Blanc, two-thirds Auxerrois). Fermented and aged for ten or eleven months in large oak casks, the wine offers a clear and subtly mineral bouquet of ripe bright fruits intermixed with some sandy and lemon flavors. Medium-bodied, this is a very elegant and stimulatingly salty style with a long and aromatic finish. It is bone dry, well balanced and finessed. A gorgeous Pinot Blanc from Alsace!
Wine SpectatorA vibrant Pinot Blanc, with finely meshed flavors of star fruit, apricot, almond blossom and smoke. Lithe, zesty finish. Drink now through 2020. 530 cases made.
