Domaine Raspail-Ay Gigondas 2015
|Region||France, Rhone, Gigondas|
Wine AdvocateStill in foudre, the 2015 Gigondas from Domaine Raspail-Ay is a fine-looking blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, vinified in concrete and then aged in foudre. It's full-bodied and creamy-textured, with spice flourishes of cinnamon, cracked pepper and herbs de Provence layered over red plums and finished off by masses of ripe tannins. Drink Date: 2019-2027.
Wine SpectatorVery solid, with a core of steeped dark plum, fig and black currant fruit that is still a bit coiled up, while singed cedar, lavender, savory and tobacco notes peek throughout. Shows a light sanguine echo on the finish. Just wait this out a bit longer in the cellar. Best from 2020 through 2025. 6,000 cases made.
