Domaine Bzikot Bourgogne Blanc 2019
The 2018 Bourgogne Blanc comes from Huillieres, a Village vineyard that spans both Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet. This wine is as good as many Pulignys and Chassagne, but cannot be labeled Village because the fruit comes from both Villages. We are then rewarded with an outstanding Bourgogne level wine that is truly amazing. The vines in this wine are over 40yr old and the wine is vinified in 50% stainless steel and 50% French oak of which only 5% is new. There is great complexity in this wine with green apple tones and fresh spices that marry well with the minerality it exhibits. A wine to be enjoyed now, but surprisingly one that can age for years to come.
