Medici Ermete Lambrusco Reggiano Concerto 2016
|Region||Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Lambrusco Reggiano|
This refreshing, racy, frothy and focused red delivers raspberry, strawberry, orange zest, white pepper and dried black-cherry aromas and flavors. Made from 100% Lambrusco Salamino, it's vibrant, with a crisp, dry finish.
Fully saturated, almost impenetrable purple color. Perfumed nose of plum, blackberry, blueberry, and a hint of violet. Rich and dense but with juicy acidity neatly extending the flavors on the long, clean fresh back end. Though not especially complex, this is a serious Lambrusco Reggiano that can age well (the 2012 vintage is still drinking nicely.) Spends three months on its lees, so this wine is an example of a long Charmat-Martinotti method.
This tangy Lambrusco frames ripe and brambly notes of black raspberry and boysenberry with lip-smacking acidity. The creamy mousse carries accents of orange zest, cocoa powder and star anise on the finish. Drink now through 2019.
