Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2017 Zinfandel Mother Clone gives up spiced peach cobbler, brown sugar, shaved nutmeg, red hot cinnamon candy and cured meats aromas with notes of dried herbs and damp earth. Medium to full-bodied, it has a good core of spicy fruits with grainy tannins and good freshness, finishing very spicy. 7,000 cases produced.
Spirited if rather ripe, with dried cherry, licorice and smoky pepper flavors that build toward briary tannins. Drink now through 2026. 8,500 cases made.
