Château Cap Léon Veyrin Listrac Médoc 2015
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Listrac|
|Brand||Château Cap Léon Veyrin|
Continuing the sequence of fine vintages from this estate, this wine is rich, dense and structured. It has plenty of tannins, as well as generous black-plum and spice flavors. Wood aging adds light toastiness and smooths out the fruit. Drink from 2025.
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Chateau Cap Leon Veyrin has a more modern-style nose, with glossier black fruit than its Listrac compadres, maybe the fruit picked a little later? The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, confit black fruit and a dense, assertive, slightly heady finish. It is not a bad wine, but maybe a little opulent in the context of the vintage. Tasted September 2017.
