Château Brane-Cantenac Margaux De Brane 2015
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Medoc|
Owned by Henri Lurton, one of several Lurtons to own property in Margaux, this estate is performing in high gear. Its second wine is rich and concentrated with solid tannins as well as generous blackberry fruits. It will be impressive as it ages. Drink from 2020.
A perfumy black tea note weaves around here, while the core of gently mulled cherry and red currant fruit unwinds slowly, letting additional alder and warm stone accents emerge. Shows a light iron echo on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2029.
The 2015 Margaux de Brane is a tasty, third wine that shows just how appealing this vintage is in Margaux. Plump, juicy and forward, the 2015 will drink well for at least the next few years.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Baron de Brane has an earthy, dried leaves and forest floor nose over a core of warm red currants and black cherries plus touches of blueberry pie. The medium-bodied palate is firm and chewy with a decent fruit core and slightly hard, rustic finish.
