Henry Fessy Julienas 2016
|Region||France, Beaujolais, Juliénas|
James SucklingAn open nose that reveals spycies and cacao notes with aromas of wild berries. In the mouth, the wine is round, with beautiful tannins. It is balanced with a finish that offers subtle toasted aromas.
Wine EnthusiastThis wine comes from a five-acre parcel planted on schist. The 50-year-old vines have produced a solid wine, perfumed with red cherries and flavored with rich berry and black-cherry fruit. The tannins are integrating well to give a wine that will be ready from late 2018.
Wine SpectatorWild cherry and boysenberry fruit is matched to juicy, tangy acidity in this light-bodied red, with herb, white pepper and licorice notes leading into the minerally finish. Drink now through 2021. 600 cases made, 80 cases imported.
