Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc 2019
Owners David and Kate Acland, both come from 5 generations of farmers and growers with a proud history of producing quality food. Today they farm sheep, cattle, honey, and wine and a new generation have begun with their 3 young children involved in all of their enterprises.
The Orchard Lane winery lies down a long quiet lane in the heart of the Marlborough wine-growing region. In an area once surrounded by apple orchards, only one gnarled row remains, providing fresh apples to winemakers and cellar hands over harvest.
Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc is instantly appealing on the nose showing ripe peach, apple and passionfruit characters with an elegant infusion of lemongrass. The palate delivers lush fruit intensity which is beautifully enhanced by juicy mouthfeel and bright acidity. All this leads to a long refreshing finish. Wonderfully expressive and immensely enjoyable! Packed with ripe green apple, grapefruit, passionfruit, mango aromas, and chalky minerals on the nose. The palate is rich, smooth and rounded with a crisp hint of lemon citrus on the finish.
Perfect with tapas, charcuterie boards, ceviche, goats cheese and watermelon salads, moules-marinere, wild mushroom risotto, or to enjoy with friends on its own.
