Starting with the 2018 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley, which comes from multiple sites and was brought up in 27% new French oak, it has a vivid ruby hue to go with classic Russian River notes of mulled cherry and raspberry fruits, cola, spice box, and dried herbs. Medium-bodied, round, and beautifully textured, it's a totally charming, balanced, elegant Pinot Noir that punches way above its weight.

This is an outstanding wine for the price, made from a majority of estate-grown grapes across the appellation. Given 10 months in French oak, 27% of it new, it is designed to be delicious out the gate, with a lush opulence that is soft, broad and supple across the palate. Plummy and brimming in dark cherry and cola, it finishes with moderate structure and baking spice.

The 2018 Pinot Noir (Russian River) is a very pretty appellation-level wine in this range. Floral, finely cut and lifted, the 2018 captures all of the energy of the growing season. Crushed red berries and floral notes add energy to this medium-bodied, refreshing Pinot. I can hardly wait to taste the rest of the 2018 Hartford Court Pinots.
