Ripe and concentrated, with enticing aromas of dark black fruit and a delicate core of cedar. On the palate, flavorful layers of black cherry, cassis and juicy plum mingle with refined tannins to create a textured, concentrated impression. This is a classic Washington Cab, true to its varietal character and with a finish that lasts.
Like previous vintages of this wine, winemaker Mike Januik relies on Novelty Hill’s estate vineyard Stillwater Creek on the Royal Slope of the Frenchman Hills to build the base for the wine, then blends in layered complexity by using grapes from a small selection of top Red Mountain and Wahluke Slope sites to further enhance flavors and mouthfeel.
Blend: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec

Blackberry, mulberry, clove, hazelnut and mint chocolate on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, tight-grained tannins and crisp acidity. Fresh and bright with flavorful layers of berries and spice.

Coming from the Columbia Valley and aged 20 months in 25% new French oak, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a classic nose of darker currants, tobacco, scorched earth, and cedar. Beautifully textured, medium-bodied, and balanced, it's a great value in high quality Cabernet Sauvignon that will keep for 7-8 years or more.
