Pinot Grigio pioneer Santa Margherita has launched its 2020 rosé, made from grapes grown in the Veneto region, in the US in time for summer.

According to its makers, Santa Margherita Rosé 2020 is "lively and vibrant with fresh acidity and balance, and light floral aromas", and pairs well with salads, grilled meats and cheese platters.

Since its founding in 1935, Santa Margherita has been a leader in wine innovation. The brand popularised Prosecco with its release of Prosecco Superiore in 1952, at a time when only locals knew of the Italian fizz.

In the 1960s, the Marzotto family blazed a trail with its Pinot Grigio, which remains one of the leading Pinot Grigio brands in the US to this day.
