Schild Estate Unwooded Chardonnay 2019
|Region||Australia, South Australia, Barossa Valley|
The aroma is characterized by fresh lemon citrus notes alongside a hint of classic Chardonnay nutty and creamy aromas and those reminiscent of mineral bath salts. In the mouth a plump front palate shows the same lemon citrus accompanied by flavours of white peach before a fresh acid line then works in tandem with a soft edge to ensure the wine remains, delicate, balanced, but targeted in its presence through the palate.
This unwooded Chardonnay is a refreshing contrast to many of this producer's ripe, powerful reds. It opens with a bright perfume of peach, melon and ginger, with a mineral, saline note in the background. The palate has textural appeal. It's creamy in feel yet lifted by pure, mouthwatering acidity and clean, fresh fruit flavors.
Pear, green apple and dried pineapple flavors show good intensity and sleek acidity. Juicy on the finish. Drink now. 2,116 cases made, 200 cases imported.
