Figuière aims for tight wines that express the unique terroir of coastal Provence. Première Rosé shows complex aromas and flavors of nectarine, thyme and lavender, and white flowers. The wine has a persistent freshness thanks to cooling breezes from the Mediterranean and an underpinning of salty minerality thanks to La Londe's distinctive schist soils. The refreshing character of Provençal rosé with its bright acidity and moderate level of alcohol make it the ideal partner to the simply prepared cuisine of the Mediterranean. Serve this wine with crudités and anchovy sauce, marinated red bell peppers and a crudo of sea bass with lemon and peppercorn.
Robert Parker 91 Points "The estate-bottled, certified-organic 2020 Cotes de Provence Premiere is a clear step up from the négociant-style Magali Signature. A blend of 35% each Cinsault and Grenache with 30% Mourvèdre, it's a pale, coppery hue in the glass, with scents of crushed stone, peach, alpine strawberries, and lime zest. Medium-bodied, fresh and zippy, with a lingering, citrus-riddled finish, it should drink well for at least the rest of this year and possibly well into 2022."
Limpid orange-pink. Mineral-accented red berry and pit fruit aromas are complemented by a building floral topnote. Silky and energetic on the palate, offering fresh strawberry, tangerine and nectarine flavors that deepen with air. Shows fine delineation and strong persistence on the finish, which leaves repeating pit fruit and mineral notes behind.
This wine is rich, full of red and citrus fruits that give a dense, fresh character. The ripeness, layers of young acidity and perfumed fruitiness suggest the wine could age a few months more. Drink from late 2021. Suitable for vegans. Organic.
