Vina Robles Mountain Road Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
|Region||California, Central Coast, Paso Robles|
Aromas of freshly smashed boysenberry, açaí sorbet and purple flowers make for a vibrant nose in this bottling from the brand's Adelaida Springs Ranch, located just 12 miles from the coast at 1,700 feet in elevation. Those fruity, floral tones are upheld by tight tannins on the otherwise lush palate.
Inky ruby. Deeply perfumed aromas of ripe black/blue fruits, vanilla and potpourri take on a smoky mineral nuance and an exotic hint of incense with air. Broad, concentrated cassis, mulberry, cherry preserve and violet pastille flavors are joined by suggestions of candied licorice and oak spices on the back half. Finishes on an appealingly sweet dark fruit liqueur note, with youthfully gripping tannins and strong, smoky persistence.
