Taub Family Vineyards Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
|Brand||Taub Family Vineyards|
Aromas of graphite, garrigue, tobacco leaf and cedar chest intermingle with flavors of red cherry, black currant and plum, along with notes of crème de cassis, dark chocolate, licorice and dried herbs. A full-bodied wine with a firm backbone of fine grainy tannins. Concentrated yet elegantly balanced, with good acidity and stacked layers of complex flavors leading to a long, savory finish.
Tones of compost, sage and baking spice accent this full-bodied wine, with a surprising freshness beneath its core of decadently soft red fruit. Showing plenty of structure and graceful length, it finishes on a crisp currant note.
This late release is a beauty, with the fruitforward profile of the vintage, showing lush plum, raspberry and cassis flavors, without the slight midpalate gap shown by many wines of the vintage. There’s also a nicely filled-in finish that delivers a second rush of anise, bramble and sweet tobacco notes.
