From the underrated Montecucco region of Tuscany, Podere Montale has won critical acclaim for their Sangiovese based wines from this area. The Peposo is a red blend that delivers Super Tuscan quality wine at an incredible price.
Ruby red color; the bouquet is joyful, with a wonderful floral aroma and hints of violet. The wine is fruity with notes of fresh fruit. The taste reveals ample freshness and minerality. The good sapidity gives the palate pleasant drinkability.

Currant and berry aromas with some hazelnut and sage undertones. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh, savory finish. I like the fresh line of acidity and tannin that runs through this, despite the hot growing season. Drink or hold.

The 2017 Toscana ‘Peposo’ from Podere Montale delivers pretty aromas of red berries, cherries, crushed stone, mixed with spices, florals and leather. This classy Tuscan Blend is well structured with fine tannins and a beautiful silky texture, that continues through the long finish. This is showing beautifully today and I expect it to continue to evolve over the course of the next 5-7 years.
