Deep garnet red colour with bright ruby tints. Intense red berry flavours (raspberries), red pepper and tobacco notes, underlined with cocoa and spicy vanilla aromas. Palate has aromas of chocolate roasted nuts, currants and clay with a tart medium dry body and a grilled cedar, cherry and apple accented finish. Best served at 17° C. This wine will pair well with warm salads or meat pies; with main courses, it will pair with barbecued lamb or beef, or lamb stews, flank steaks, as well as hard cheeses.
