This detailed and distinctive wine offers a full body and layered flavors ranging from tart raspberries to minerals to white pepper on a classically tannic texture. While lean in texture, it goes deep and persistent with the lean fruits and subtle spices. Best from 2027.

The 2019 Barolo Bergera Pezzole is a very pretty, beguiling wine. Crushed leaves, spice, tobacco, cedar, mint, white pepper and dried cherry lend notable aromatic presence. The aromatics suggest an open, approachable wine, but this mid-weight Barolo packs a pretty serious tannic punch. A few years in bottle should help it come together. Even a bit of aeration helps quite a bit.

This Barolo showcases old-world spices like clove, nutmeg, and allspice, complemented by earthy, savory, and musky notes. Restrained blackberry, black cherry, and plum flavors emerge on the firm, taut palate. Elegant, refined and lifted on the finish, the wine is bright and ready for today but a few years in the cellar will let it fully blossom. Drink Now - 2045
