Feraud-Brunel Lot 98 Image du Sud

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

It is not vintage dated, but the vintage is indicated on the back label as Lot #98. The wine will only be produced when vintage quality allows and the blend is subject to change with each bottling, although only grapes grown in the south of France will be used.

Wine AdvocateA joint effort of well-known Chateauneuf du Pape producers Andre Brunel (Les Cailloux) and Laurence Feraud (Pegau), this Vin de Table is primarily a blend of Syrah and Grenache with small quantities of Carignan and Tannat, all from the 1998 vintage. A serious, robust effort, it offers a dense ruby/purple color, as well as an exuberant nose of smoke, minerals, scorched earth, black pepper, and juicy, plum and black cherry fruit. This full-bodied, rustic but chewy, corpulent wine will saturate the palate and fill the mouth. Rough tannin kept my score just below a magical 90, but there is considerable intensity, extract, and personality in this boldly-styled, exuberant, southern French red. It will drink beautifully with grilled steak. Consume it over the next 5-6 years, although it may last even longer.
