Chateau Clos Dubreuil Anna 2012Freshness and precision. The three Merlot plots and the single Cabernet Franc plot dedicated to the production of Anna are situated on the north face of Saint Emilion's clay-limestone plateau. They are tended to with incredible diligence and care (de-budding, leaf pulling, green harvesting etc.) in order to obtain grapes of the very best quality. Harvesting takes place a week later than for the Clos Dubreuil plots and is done by hand, using small baskets. The vinification process begins with a 10-day cold pre-fermentation of whole grapes, followed by a weeklong fermentation at around 24˚C. After 6 to 8 weeks of vinification, the wine is transferred to barrels for the malo-lactic fermentation before being aged for 20 months in French oak barrels.
