A full-bodied wine, soft and rich in fine tannins, with notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla in the end.

Empress Josephine's Riesling was picked at Spatlese levels, giving the wine a richer mouthfeel, delicious tropical and stone fruit notes, and refreshing acidity on the finish.

The name was combined with the French sensibility of the winemaker for wines that express complexity & terroir notes often found in umami-foods like foraged mushrooms. The winemaker is the acclaimed Frenchman Laurent Montalieu of Four Graces and Solena fame.

Domaine LaFage Bastide Miraflors 2017A custom cuvée for European Cellars and a joint project between Eric Solomon and Jean-Marc Lafage, Bastide Miraflors is a cuvée created from Grenache grown on rocky, alluvial clay soils resembling those of the Rhône Valley combined with Syrah grown on schist in the village of Maury. After a long maceration of six weeks the wine ages for 12 months in concrete (Grenache) and 600L French oak demi-muids (Syrah).
