Poggio al Tesoro Solosole 2021
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri|
|Brand||Poggio al Tesoro|
Golden yellow in colour with greenish hues, Solosole opens with notes of stone fruits such as peach and apricot, followed by flint-like notes. It has a medium body, with generous fruit character. The finish is long, dry and zesty, especially when young. It evolves interestingly in the glass, an indication of its excellent ageing capacity.
Pair with appetizers, raw fish and, thanks to its freshness and aromatic character, fried seafood, fish stews and vegetable dishes. Serve at 8-10°C and open just before serving.
The 2021 Vermentino Solosole is laced with hints of pear, spice, white flowers and mint. Stylistically, the 2021 offers lovely brightness and a touch less oiliness than in the past. There's plenty of depth buffered by bright saline notes that extend the finish.
This savory white starts off with inviting aromas of gooseberry, elderflower and citrus. Full and rounded, the polished palate features juicy white grapefruit, ripe apricot and a hint of saline before closing on bitter almond.
A fresh white, offering lemon, apple and fresh herb aromas, with a fleshy texture and lively acidity. Ends with a saline finish. Drink now. 9,500 cases made, 3,100 cases imported.
