Domaine Bzikot Puligny Montrachet 2021
|Region||France, Burgundy, Puligny-Montrachet|
This superb Puligny-Montrachet deftly balances richness and texture with striking acidity and elegance. Bright and citrusy with notes of white peach, crisp green apple, and wet stones. A village-level wine with the ability to develop further. This wine has a delicate purity, and cut. Detailed, intense, aromas and flavors of lemon curd, grilled pineapple, apricot, fresh butter, toasted nuts, and crushed mint arrive in waves in a wine of transparent purity and deep minerality with a finish that is breathtaking.
This is already a delight to drink and you'll especially love it with scallops or grilled fish finished with a dollop of butter and squeeze of lemon or with grill-crisped chicken thighs done with a slice of lemon under the skin. Over the next few years it will get creamier and deeper and be ready for big hunks of sweet and salty lobster dunked in butter. Excellent!
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a fresh apple blossom, pressed white flower and lanolin-tinged nose. The palate is well balanced with a malic entry, a little attenuation towards the finish that just drifts away.
